Yellow Pages Feeling “Green” |

Recently, there has been a lot of talk regarding Yellow Pages and the fact that the majority of Yellow Pages being published and distributed are ending up in the garbage. Many feel that Yellow Pages are adding to the amount of waste being accumulated within our environment by distributing these books. The question everyone wants to know is “what are Yellow Pages doing to fix this issue”?
It has recently been made public by Yellow Pages that they are working
towards making their books more eco-friendly. To do so, they have put
the following into effect. Yellow Pages are now using soy-based inks
versus the petroleum inks they were originally using within their
books. This is to prevent threat to any soil or groundwater supplies.
They have also been working with publishers who use over 40% of
recycled paper for printing. Additionally, Yellow Pages are using
directory paper that is made from byproducts of sawdust that is
produced after logs of wood are being made into lumber.
Yellow Pages has assured the public they are doing everything they can
to ensure their production process will be more environmentally correct
so that they can limit waste. Yellow Pages intend to do what they can
to keep the public updated with directory information while at the same
